Even without her okay, he'd already started gathering up some of the stray items, but his smile grew wider when she agreed. "You've certainly got your hands full, don't you?"
He looked around for a place to put the items, then paused. "Why don't I go get another bag for you? You know, you should get one of those canvas shopping bags." He nodded to let her know he'd only be a second, then jogged toward the store to ask for more bags, bringing them back out to her once he'd retrieved them.
"Do you live far?" He started rebagging everything, putting the heavier things on the bottom, making sure the bags would hold this time.
